This year is a great Raya celebration for us because we finally managed to do an Open House at the office from 1pm till 4pm, sebenarnya almost half day. Tak pernah terjadi for the past 7 years. Anyway the ambience was great and we have extended our invitation to the other subsidiaries and parent company. I was requested to contribute something for the company open house today. As I mentioned in the previous postings, this is my ‘MALAS’ year.. I did not even do any open house or big birthday celebration this year. But, as part of my obligation as a member of the company and since I tak ajak any colleague to my house, I decided to get something nice for the celebration. My thoughts was the blueberry cheesecake at SR but thinking of the mess I decided to go with the Carrot Slice. So this is the sneak preview of the carrot slice taken at our office pantry. I grew up reading many Enid Blyton series and one of them are the Amelia Jane collection. When my parents are still working, we used to move around a lot so many of our old books are misplaced or lost. So i didn’t get to keep my collection for the kids. However, as I passed through MPH last month I saw the cover of the Amelia Jane collection. But since I was in a rushed I thought I would get it after Ramadhan and here it is .
My original plan was to keep it first until LP is ready but when she saw me holding the book she was already excited and up till today she has completed 3 chapters. I managed to read 2 chapters last night while putting LA to sleep. hehehe …the pixies, goblins, pink rabbit and soldier brings back old memories.
My 3 year old daughter LA is so into Demi Lovato and all this Camp Rock thingy. She tells everybody that she wants to sing like Lovato meaning that she has to let her hair down and all that. For mummies out there whose kids are also into Camp Rock, THIS IS ME video. I love the song too.
I needed somethin to wake me up so I was watching the videos in my iPhone while trying to think about some strategies that I would like to roll out for my team. It was the metallica video that kept my eyes wide open. The video is from it latest Death Magnetic album.
I started listening to Metallica since 1989, wow that’s like almost 19 years. I’m not a rock kapak person cause I’m also a fan of Sinatra, Bill Withers, Rod Stewart, Queen, Bryan Adams, Watanabe, Sheila and Anuar. My favorite metallica album would be the so-called black album. I like almost all the songs and I still remember the lyrics.
When I married DITC, I got to know that he has gone to watch them at Earls Court, London in 1996. I totally envy him. Anyway, to friends who love metallica… this song is for you.
This is year is a lazy year for me. LP said that I made many cakes last year including the legendary pirate ship cake for her sixth birthday. So to stop her from nagging I promised LP that I will make cup cakes for her. But I was still too lazy, so I pursuaded her that choc chip cookies would be nicer and tastier. It was two nights before raya when I decided that we should have the baking session. The baker aka LA was by my side throughout the session even after several doses of 8oz milk since 10.30pm. We completed everything by 1am that day.

LA: mummy..mummy..looka (look at) LP.
MITC: What’s wrong dear?
LA: She not friend me. She not friend baby.
MITC: Oh ok…i will scold her.
LA: No..no…send her to jail…send her to jail.
MITC: huh?!?
Again…a bit too late tapi Raya kan sebulan. Anyway would like to wish all friends Selamat Hari Raya. Nak datang rumah calling-calling ler, nanti makan biskut raya jer.. hehehe.

Our raya theme for this year is red. I will usually buy the kids baju raya ready made but this year we bough the material earlier when we visited Singapore the other day. So, for the first time ever in my life I have the same kind of baju kurung material with LP and LA. My dad said “Nak perform boria kat mana ni?” haha very funny.
Here are the kids with their cousin in Subang and the other photo is with my parents. Little Angel was so excited coz she gets to wear Selamat Hari Raya baju same like mummy while Little Princess was excited coz she got additional $$$ from Tok Baba for being such a good girl during the Ramadhan.
Congratulations my sweetie pie…though a bit too late. Anyway, my Little Princess managed to complete her 30 days puasa. Its her first year fasting and I’ve never trained her during kindy years coz she was still drinking from the bottle. I thought it was going to be a tough ride for us especially trying to wake her up for sahur and all that but she was very good. She never missed sahur and never demanded anything too fancy to eat for berbuka.
This is how she looked like during the early days of Ramadhan. So tired and kurus. (she lost 3kg during the fasting month but gained it back again since the last five days.)
