My Birthday

I’m 36 this year and I’m blessed with some many things in life . Sometimes I get scared if I start to take things for granted and forget to thank Allah for all this blessing.

We didn’t go anywhere this year to celebrate my birthday as life is just too packed. LA is going for intensive Bahasa Melayu classes and LP’s subject are getting tougher by the day that when we actually have time left, we just want to laze around the house and do what we please.

And so, my Birthday was celebrated at home with the family. It started a day earlier when I came back from work and DITC surprises me with 36 cuppies from Wondermilk. This time around the theme was red and hearts. My kids, niece and nephew are just thrilled that they will have many cuppies to indulge. Ms pelican is back from U so she was there to celebrate with us.

DITC gave me a shopping voucher that he made himself . It entitles me for a shopping spree on my birthday. I chose KLCC because apart from getting things for myself I wanted to get something for both LP, LA and DITC (so unfairkan tapi mothers being mothers) . This is what I got for myself for the day. Dah tua, tak larat sungguh shopping lama-lama not like the old days when I can move from 1 shopping centre to another just to get a pair of shoes that fits.But now the idea is to get something comfy and not sinfully expensive.

Then we were at Tony Roma’s to have a late lunch.  Semua ribs….prawns with ribs, medallion with ribs up to the point LA kids meal pun ribs which she finished up all even after a full plate of spaghetti at KLCC 1 hour earlier.

 

 

 

I especially like this poster that LA made for me. Its so cute and its got my brother in it. Siap ada nama lagi though the intended spelling is wrong.

Pelican gave me a cute wallet that I have yet to get the chance to organize, an evening shoes from chubby cheeks, headscraf from Big D and a keychain with my nickname from Stamping Feet. Thank you guys, you know I love you all eventhough I can be the worst aunty when I want to get things done around the house and so the nickname Mrs. Madhouse .

My dear buddy Lisa gave me these, which I really appreciate because reading is the love of my life. And I just can’t wait to find the right momemt to start reading them.

There were many wishes from friends and relatives. Thank you all.

Another celebration was held at the office. It was the yearly session of July Babies Birthday Celebration. Why July? Because there are 10 of us and even with people leaving the company, the July babies has always maintained our headcount at any point of time to more than 5.  

Beach Holiday

It was a beach holiday for us this time around and my ol’ school buddy was able to join us. We both brought our mother along for a good rest. We were there for 4 days and all that we did was to hang around the pool and the beach. At nite, the kids shooed us away so that they can play together until midnite so ibu-ibu dan bapak-bapak apalagi….enjoylah. The kids did batik painting and cooking but me and my buddy just hang out sambil bergossip hal-hal lama. Best jugak.

 

Solace – Ketenangan

 I am faced with various challenges in the career front but I am thankful to Allah for giving me the strength to do what I do and to give me a partner (DITC) that constantly provides me the encouragement through the words of Allah.

I would like to share these words from Surat Ash-Sharĥ

94:5

For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.

Oleh itu, maka (tetapkanlah kepercayaanmu) bahawa sesungguhnya tiap-tiap kesukaran disertai kemudahan.

 

94:6

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.

(Sekali lagi ditegaskan): bahawa sesungguhnya tiap-tiap kesukaran disertai kemudahan.

 

94:7

So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].

Kemudian apabila engkau telah selesai (daripada sesuatu amal soleh), maka bersungguh-sungguhlah engkau berusaha (mengerjakan amal soleh yang lain),

 

94:8

And to your Lord direct [your] longing.

Dan kepada Tuhanmu sahaja hendaklah engkau memohon (apa yang engkau gemar dan ingini).

 

Me and My Books

Since it was such a longtime since I updated, this posting  outdated because it happened in June. But what the heck, an update is still an update.

Booksss…I love them and I love shopping for them. I got some new stuff and I’m just too excited on which one to read first. One of the reason I didn’t post the photo earlier because Lisa’s present was in them but now that her birthday has passed I can confidently show off my new catch.

I’m half way through Winning ( bought this for the office )and I’ve started with How Toyota Became No 1. I’ve been wanting to read this for ages but I had many other books still not read during those times. Check out Snow Ball the Warren Buffet book that I got..wonder how long I will take to finish it. The book on Steve Jobs – Inside Steve’s Brain is tempting too.

My brother told me during the weekend that when he goes for a holiday, he can finish a book in a day. So if he went for a 5 day holiday he could actually finish 5? Such a brag..but looking at his book shelves I kinda believe his words.
