I’m in LOVE!!! no..not with another man but with the iPAD

Call me anything you want but I’m just so crazy about the new IPad. Why? Because it looks exactly like my  iPhone. Kih..kih…kih…Just imagine if they have a pink cover to go with it. Yehooooo…..I just love..love it. As for the features, well I’ve got 2 version of the iPhone so I really don’t care what they have to offer as long as I can get it in Pink.

Encouragement, when they needed it most.

Have you met a person who is so encouraging that their words of encouragement lets you live longer? So the next time you have a friend in need don’t be so stingy in your words of encouragement. Sometimes a simple gestures or even a simple smile will make a difference AT THAT POINT OF TIME!! Most importantly, it doesn’t cost you a cent.  Enjoy the short story below about the power of encouragement.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn’t hear the band – he could see it in his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it for himself.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”

We Survived the First Week Of School

We made it through the first week of school despite the looney parents on the loose. Not only are parents looney in kinder and school, some even went to the extent of being looney on the road. Iskh..iskh…iskh… Anyway, we managed to stay calm and relax throughout the week.

Some of these parents are mostly there only for the first week and later will depend on the transportation services of others. When they are not around, traffic flow will be better with minimal violations. So far I have been sending and picking up my kids with some help from my mom. We try to be respectful to others by not blocking the traffic or do things that are inconsiderate to others. I was brought up by my parents with etiquette 101 and when I grew up I added it up with manners that should be conform to as a  muslim. I guess that is what lacking with the society nowadays.   I don’t want to give examples of bad etiquette and gestures because it will be so exhaustive and might turn out to be a very thick encyclopedia. Anyway, life is about sharing the goodness and not about the bad. As we grow older we should be better and wiser than what we were 10 years ago or even yesterday.

So parents out there, don’t give up on being tolerant and tactful to others. We need to keep it going for our children’s sake.

Think SUSTAINABILITY!!!

How On Earth Did a Bench Turned Into a Rabbit Shack!

This is what we call recycle big time. I was having a conversation with DITC and we both thought that Sophie needs a bigger place to hop round. I was showing DITC some images of the available Rabbit Shack from the web. The next morning when I woke up I saw this in my garden.

MITC: Where did you get that thing from?

DITC: I made it lah.

MITC: I know you made it but where did you get the materials from?

DITC: Remember the bench that was broken after you friends came over from the last bbq?

MITC: Huh???

DITC really did it great this time. He made it so fast that I think he must have a hidden talent membuat kandang. Hehehe….Anyway, Sophie love her new home. But we will have to put her back in the cage at night since there are many other animals roaming around.

You can watch more of Sophie’s antics here…..

2010

We slept through new year again last night as usual. There was not much thing to do after we watched HSM for the XXX times. I was completing my task before the 2010 and that is to wrap up all of LP’s book. Ya, kakak2, I have to admit that I have an obsession with kertas pembalut buku. I just love wrapping the books knowing that there won’t be any “dog ear” syndrome on my kids exercise book.

By the way, my mummy is back..yehoo but she went to Kuching yesterday and won’t be back until Sunday…man!!! Sometimes I wonder how on earth does a 72 year old lady gets her energy from. She seems to have a lot of it as compared to someone half her age.

Other than hanging out and settling things for the children schooling,we managed to watch several movies such as the Christmal Carol, Princess and the Frog, 2012, Avatar, Alvin and The Chipmunk and most importantly, DITC an myself got to watch our Holmes finally. Talking about Holmes, i could see some similarity with House, don’t you think so. They are both whacky n believe that science are able to explain everything and both of their buddies name starts with the alphabet W …Dr. Wilson and Dr. Watson? So no more movies for us until Tooth Fairy.

We also had a tak dirancang mini BBQ because LA wanted to have a picnic and she told us already late evening. So only chicken wings, burgers and lamb sajee .. yang mana senang dapat kat Jusco…but the kids sure had fun. I forgot to snap the photo of the cheesecake that my niece Pelican and Big D helped making and baking.
